On March 9, 1975 Hillsboro Bible Baptist Church held its first service in a rented storefront building on Main Street. Six months later, the church was organized in October with 47 charter members. They moved to the Grange Building at the fairgrounds.

Four years later, eleven acres of property was purchased where our church currently stands today. The first auditorium and educational building was built in 1981 and the $70,000 loan was paid off in 6 years. In 1986, a 10,000 sq. foot family life center was built entirely by cash.

The church reached its capacity and moved to the family life center in 1997. The old auditorium was renovated into a chapel and office facility. We have reached capacity again. On Easter Sunday 2001 we moved into our new 38,000 sq. ft. auditorium, which seats approximately 1,000. It connects with the two existing buildings.

Dan Lamb is the Pastor of the Hillsboro Bible Baptist Church in Hillsboro. Dan was raised in a drunkard's home. But by the mercy of a loving God his father was saved and soon after at the age of 17 Dan was saved and life begin anew for Dan and his family! As a young Christian Dan was growing in the Lord under the teaching of Pastor Charles Smith (now the Pastor of the Mt Orab Bible Baptist Church) in Saginaw, Michigan. He surrendered his life to the ministry on Christmas Eve of 1969 while racing to the scene of his Mother's death. He enrolled in Baptist Bible College of Springfield, Missouri in 1970. He has an Honorary Doctorate from Shreveport, Louisiana.

Dan and Sugie were married in the summer of 1971 and returned to B.B.C. graduating in 1973. Following graduation they returned to their home church to work on staff. In March of 1975 they moved to Hillsboro and founded the Hillsboro Bible Baptist Church. The church began in a store front, grew from that to a rented building at the fairgrounds. The first auditorium and educational building was built in 1981 and was paid off in 6 years. In 1986 a 10,000 sq. ft. Family Life Center was built entirely by cash. The church reached its capacity and moved to the Family Life Center in 1997. Construction has begun on our new 38,000 sq. ft. auditorium which will seat 750 on the main floor. It will connect with the two existing buildings. The church families of the Hillsboro Bible Baptist Church has given sacrificial and have been able to accumulate 1 million dollars in cash toward the building. When I see all that the Lord has done in Hillsboro I am thankful for the Ohio Fellowship, almost 25 years ago the Fellowship stood by me and support the desire of a young man that they did not know with prayers and financial support.

Dan and Sugie are the parents of four children: Stacy Burns - married to Matt, they work on our church staff, they have four children. Rebecca ... married to Rodney. Becky is the owner and operator of First Learning Center. They have one baby girl and a boy on the way. Daniel ... married to Missy are serving the church in several different ministries. They have 3 children. Stephen ... married to Ashley and are currently living in Athens, OH finishing College.

I thank the Lord for the family that He has given me and the great church that He has allowed me to Pastor, but most of all for the love and forgiveness He extends to me.
